R&D ENGINEER

SEAS is a leading manufacturer of high-quality loudspeaker drive units and other related audio products. For more than 60 years we have developed and manufactured speakers for a worldwide market, and are firmly established in the market with a very strong brand identity and a solid customer portfolio.
In addition to our headquarters near E6 in Rygge municipality , we also maintain a sales office in Chicago, USA. SEAS currently has 50 dedicated employees, 6 of whom are employed in the R&D lab. The R&D department provides support to all internal departments; including production, purchasing and marketing.

The R&D department is now seeking a new employee, who will help us strengthen our critical functions within the SEAS organization. This new employee will initiate, manage, and implement exciting new projectsin collaboration with other lab employees; projects that will help advance SEAS’ position in the overall loudspeaker market.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product development: encompassing all aspects from initial computer simulation through final production
Handover and follow-up of products from the lab to the production department
Building of relationships with customers and suppliers, in cooperation with with the SEAS marketing and purchasing departments.

REQUIREMENTS:

Advanced degree in acoustics or in other relevant areas
A strong interest and basic knowledge in the areas of speakers, acoustics, sound quality and measurement techniques.
A strong interest and some knowledge in the areas of mechanics, dynamics, magnets, adhesives, plastics, composites, metals, technical drawing and 3D modeling.

PERSONAL SKILLS:

We are seeking an enterprising person with enthusiasm for finding new and creative projects. We are interested in someone who is curious, creative and who projects confidence. You should be able to work independently and purposefully, while at the same time collaborating internally and with external contacts. It is also important that you are able to multi-task, with the ability to engage an diverse projects simultaneously.
