Excel Graphene C16NX001/F

Please welcome the new C16NX001/F, which is the fourth product in our new Excel Graphene line, and the first coaxial driver in the new line. It is a successor to the famous C16N001/F (E0051-04/06) driver from SEAS, and utilizes all the improvements we have implemented into the W16NX003. This new line is designed for modern high-res audio reproduction with clarity and dynamic capability in mind.

High purity Graphene, which is a nano-material with special properties, is added to the surface treatment. Please see our white paper for details. (Chinese version: CN).

Low mechanical and electromagnetic damping ensure high quality reproduction of even the finest micro details in music. At the same time the high-performance titanium voice coil former and its connection to the cone has very high power-handling, suitable for modern amplifiers (e.g. Class-D). Therefore, the driver has exceptional high dynamic capability, which the light and stiff and well damped magnesium cone transfers into clean and undistorted sound, suitable for modern High-Res audio.

The SEAS Diamond tweeters represent the ultimate sound reproduction quality at high frequencies, flawless, clean, uncolored and natural.

The new Dark Diamond, E0101-04, is essentially the same tweeter as the well renown White Diamond.

The Dark Diamond launches on popular requests from the market. With its beautifully precision machined, black anodized aluminium faceplate, which is horn loaded for a smooth frequency response, maximum stability and smooth appearance, we dare to claim:

Through 2018 and into the spring of 2019 the diamond tweeter was optimized for better performance in the 1-40 kHz frequency range and with improvements in the production processes as well, for higher linear excursion (FEA optimized suspension, verified by measurements) with lower distortion at low frequencies, smoother response and better batch-to-batch consistency.

To facilitate this development, SEAS has invested more than 300 hours of engineering, as well as a new Brüel & Kjær NEXUS conditioning preamplifier which is linear to above 100 kHz, and a Benchmark AHB2 analog power amplifier with low distortion and low noise well beyond 100 kHz, such that the entire measurement chain is geared towards high-res and high-frequency audio measurements.

Please note, the data sheet shows the frequency response all the way up to 90 kHz.

The Dark Diamond is a new product, which is launched as a milestone marker in the development of this ultra-high-end product. It stands for truthful high-res audio reproduction with outstanding clarity and dynamic capability in mind. Pure fidelity.

Metamodal TPCD cone is the second generation of the TPCD material which is engineered to have low weight, high stiffness and controlled damping. This is matched to an optimised suspension to give a smooth, extended frequency response.   Titanium voice coil former with a long copper clad aluminium winding for excellent force transfer, transient sound reproduction and large linear excursion.   An FEA optimised magnet system with precisely fitted copper parts for superb linearity, high power handling and low distortion.   The extremely stiff and stable injection moulded metal basket keeps the critical components in perfect alignment. Large windows in the basket both above and below the spider reduce sound reflection, air flow noise and cavity resonance to a minimum.   This combination results in improved clarity and finely detailed sound reproduction, for a more lifelike and realistic listening experience.
